Wessex Night League 2017-18

Monday was the final event of the Wesex Region Night League and the Prize Giving at Queens Park. The evening started off with an excellent 60 minutes of running with much to be decided in several age groups on the evenings results. This was then followed by a meal and finally the prize giving. Our notable WIM results were Becca Ellis 2nd overall and Jo Pickering 3rd overall in the Women's Open and myself winning overall the Men's Handicap.

Thanks must go to Gavin Clegg for organising the League over the winter season and to Julie Astin and WSX helpers for organising/planning the event and feeding us all.

Summary of top three placings by Dick:

In the Women’s Open competition, Tereza-Marie Rush (BOK) came 1st (having attended all the events!), followed by Becca Ellis (WIM), who pipped Jo Pickering (WIM) by a couple of points.

In the Men’s Open, Peter Suba (WSX) came 1st, with Dan Cope (BAOC) 2nd, and Alan Blanchflower (WSX) 3rd.

In the Women’s Handicap competition, Charlotte Thornton (SARUM) again came 1st, followed by Carolyn Dent (BOK) and Jane Morgan (SOC).

In the Men’s Handicap, Chris Branford (WIM) came 1st, followed by Mike Frizzell (BADO) and Robin Smith (SOC).
